JEDDAH: The Saudi Arabian pavilion at the Prague International Book Fair, where the Kingdom is being hosted as a guest of honor for the first time, was visited by a number of Arab diplomats and ambassadors, including media, cultural and academic figures. The 450-meter pavilion, which was opened Thursday by Abdullah Abdulaziz Aal Al-Sheikh, the Saudi ambassador to the Czech Republic, in the presence of Dr. Khaled Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education, is located in the center of the exhibition, and contains books on history, literature and geography, life of women in the Arabian Peninsula, novels and dictionaries. It also contains a screen showing information about developments in the country, the National Heritage and Culture Festival (Al-Janadriya), historic sites, and a plastic art gallery featuring a number of artists. Other sections at the pavilion have books and toys and Arabian calligraphy under the supervision of artist Saud Khan. Arabian coffee was served at a traditional Saudi tent outside the exhibition under the embassy's supervision. The pavilion includes lectures and symposiums. On Friday there was a lecture on Islamic Civilization delivered by Dr. Ali Al-Namla and Dr. Mustafa Al-Halabi.
