JEDDAH: The Saudi Securities Forum 2011 opens Saturday at the King Faisal Conference Hall at Riyadh's Intercontinental Hotel. The two-day event, held under the auspices of Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Riyadh, is the first of its kind in the Kingdom and gathers market experts, investors and executives from the banking and financial sectors. The first session Saturday, chaired by Abdul Rahman Al-Humayyid, Vice Chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA), looks at the financial market and investor confidence, a topic covering a variety of areas including liquidity, foreign investment, market stability and the role of financial institutions. The first day also sees an open session with Abdul Rahman Al-Tuwaijiri, Chairman of the CMA, to discuss the future of the financial market. The four sessions of the second and final day will address development of market mechanisms, the financial market's success rate in achieving its aims, the contribution of investment funds in economic development and the role expected of the financial market.
