DAMMAM: A Saudi student of entrepreneurship and business skills is holding a forum to help students in Australia and New Zealand overcome unemployment when they return home and use their own initiatives to earn a living. Entitled “A Job is not the Only Option”, the forum is scheduled to take place next Monday at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane and will host speakers via Internet link. Forum organizer Rakan Al-Obaidi, who is also Brisbane Student Ambassador to the Middle East, said there was growing interest globally in entrepreneurship, as reflected in it becoming a subject offered by universities across the world. “In the Kingdom there are lots of centers and universities trying to promote entrepreneurship and the setting up of small businesses with new ideas,” Al-Obaidi said. “As a student the question of what Saudi students do when they return home is always on my mind. There are around 120,000 of us around the world.”
