BATEN: The Minister of Education has issued a decision allowing children who completed two semesters in kindergarten and are under six years of age, by 180 days or less, to be admitted to primary schools. The current regulatory age for enrollment is six. Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah, Education Minister, stipulates that children under six can enroll provided they have a certificate from a kindergarten proving they have completed two semesters and have basic writing skills. The decision will be implemented for the upcoming academic year. The minister's decision also stipulates that the ministry's Planning and Development department has to conduct assessments and test pupils who are under six before they are admitted.
