RIYADH: The Imam Mohammad Bin Saud Islamic University is holding an international conference over June 1 and 2 on Computer Sciences and Engineering in the Arabic Language. Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the event will gather Arab scholars and researchers from across the world to look at the latest scientific and technological accomplishments in the field of computer sciences and engineering. “The conference hopes to encourage them to Arabize and use Arabic in the field by creating research partnerships and launching strategic initiatives focusing on organized group work,” said Abdullah Al-Khalaf of the Imam Mohammad Bin Saud Islamic University and chief organizer of the conference. This is the seventh year of the annual conference and the university has been chosen for its status as “one of the most firmly established Saudi universities”, according to Al-Khalaf. “It is a leading Saudi university in the preservation and promotion of Arabic and has as one of its strategic aims the improvement in the standard of computerization of Shariah and Arabic sciences and the promotion of electronic Arabic content,” he said.
