Al-Safri, Nestle, Crown and Jotun in semifinals

JEDDAH: Crown Blue thrashed Usman Gems Warriors, Al-Safri got the better of Safa Al-Bawadi, Nestle Milo defeated AMI Juffali and Jotun Paints comfortably won against Alpha Sri Lankans to complete the semifinal lineup for Prince Faisal Afternoon Cup, sponsored by the Saudi cricket Center and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
Al-Safri will now take on Crown Blue, while Jotun will play Nestle Milo.
In the first encounter Al-Safri beat Safa Al-Bawadi by nine wickets. Safa Al-Bawadi using the track first put up 161-9 and Al-Safri reached the target for the loss of one wicket. Tahir top-scored for Safa with 36, Iqbal and Umair scored 25 each. Waseeq Sherwani took 3-23, Waseem 2-19 and Sarfaraz 2-27.
Al-Safri in reply was home 162-1 off 100 balls. Rehan hammered an unbeaten 90 as Aftab Malik made 29 and Tauseef remained unbeaten on 28.
In the second encounter Nestle Milo beat AMI Juffali by 65 runs. Nestle Milo batting first plundered 222-3 in 20 overs and then restricted Juffali to 157-7.
Hassan blasted 119 off 45 balls for Nestle Milo, while Awais made 50 and Abdullah Zahid hit 30. Only Nadeem put on some resistance with 49 for AMI Juffali. Awais and Abdul jabbar grabbed 2-26 each.
The third match saw Jotun Paints beat Alpha Sri Lankans by 28 runs. Jotun electing to bat first put on 155-6 with Sajid scoring 70 and Mazher making 23 runs. Mazhar took 2-24 and Prakashan 2-27. In response Alpha Sri Lankans was bundled out for 127 with only Mushtaque contributing 63 as none other could cross the double digit mark. Aijaz scalped 2-26.
In the last match of the Afternoon session Usman Gems Warriors were handed a 10-wicket thrashing by Crown Blue. Batting first Usman Gems piled up 183-9 in 20 overs with Amjad hitting 45 and Talha making 45, Salim 25 and Usman 24 not out.
Anwaar snatched 5-32 runs and Imran 2-23. In reply Crown Blue just took 90 balls to reach the target of 189 without loss with skipper Murtuza hammering an unbeaten 104 and his partner Rashid remaining unbeaten on 65.
Prince Faisal Morning Cup
In the Prince Faisal Morning Cup matches Universal Coil beat GGI, Al-Mazroi downed Crown White and ATS won against Mercedes Benz while My Care White was declared winner against Budget.
Universal Coil batting against GGI racked up 194-9 in 18 overs with Khadim scoring 61, Zubair 40 and Waseem 22. Ateeque bowled menacingly to take 5-34 and Naveed 2-28. GGI in reply fell short by 15 runs as it was restricted to 179-7 with Shariq making 56, Shahid 47 and Lateef 32. Farid bagged 2-19.
On Ground 3 Al-Mazroi racked up 166-7 as Irfan and Salman stroked identical figures of 33. Sadaqat took 2-21 and Kamran 2-37. Crown White in response was stranded at 145-7 as Nadeem hit 45 and Zubair 41. Kifayatullah took 2-38.
Mercedes Benz batting first against ATS scored 143-8 as Asif scored 59 and Ilyas and Osama hit 21 each. Junaid bagged 3-28, Imran 3-34 and Naveed 2-27. ATS responded with Ayaz Jafri making 41, Vivian 44 and Imran Mohammed 22 as the team reached the victory target of 144-7. Rajesh scalped 3-14 and Osama took 2
