JEDDAH: The Cougar Cricket Club beat the Old Students-XI by eight wickets, while the Saudi Steel Profile Cricket Club beat Peeran-XI by 24 runs in the 10 week of action in Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) Division-I, which is sponsored by ACE Tours and Travels. In the first encounter Old Students-XI batting first scored 165-9 in 18 overs. Cougar-XI overhauled the target for the loss of two wickets in 14.1 overs, thereby winning the match by eight wickets. Abdul Waheed top-scored for Old Students with 36. He was followed by Murtuza 30, Tahseen 26, while Tauseef and Awaiz added 13 runs each. Fida had figures of 4-29, Ashique 2-26, Zahoor 1-27, Atta Ur Rehman 1-29 and Imran 1-29 with the ball. In reply Cougar-XI made 171-2. Ali top-scored with 66 not out, Atta Ur Rehman 32 not out, Ather Ali 20 and Ashique Ali contributed 14 runs. Awaiz 1-26, Mohammad Asif 1-43 were the only ones to pick wickets. The second match saw Saudi Steel Profile Cricket Club bat first. It scored 180-8 in 18 overs before bundling out Peeran-XI for 156. For Saudi Steel Profile Rana Shahzad made 36, Tariq Jamal 35, Imran 30, Allah Ditta 15, Zain Huda 13 and Shahid 11. Shabbir and Munir bagged two wickets each while Amir and Hanif took a wicket each. Peeran-XI in reply could score only 156. Munir made 52, Shabbir 33 and Hamid Bakth 31. Tariq Jamal claimed three wickets, Rana Shahzad and Zain two wickets each while Imran bagged one wicket for Saudi Steel Profile. __
