The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Project for Increasing Accommodation Capacity of Mataf (Circumambulation Track) at the Holy Grand Mosque in Makkah started the works of its 3rd phase earlier this week. Mataf's expansion comes in its current phase in accordance with the time frame of the plan in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to provide the best services and facilities to pilgrims, Umrah performers, and worshippers at the Holy Grand Mosque. The Director of Project Management at General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque Engineer Sultan Al-Qurashi pointed out that after the implementation of the first and second phases of the project, the concerned authorities started preparations for the third phase of the project including three floors comprising of the ground and first floors and the surface with a total area of 81,567 square meters.
