Since its unification by late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has moved to fields shining with the light of hope and safety, and enjoyed prosperity, construction and development, a goodness from which all its citizens benefited, to extend even to Arab and Islamic countries, when the Saudi leadership since the era of the founder late King and then former late Kings, until the prosperous and auspicious era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by supporting the needy in all parts of the globe for the service of humanity.The Kingdom has presented soft financial aid and non-refundable grants for many of the world's poorest countries. In this regard, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) monitored in its report herein the size of this assistance provided by the Kingdom to those countries, making it occupy the first place in support of peoples' humanitarian issues, and has well deserved to gain the title of (Kingdom of Humanity). In that context, the Secretary General of the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) and Chairman of the General Relief Committee of the World Islamic Council for Call and Relief, Ehsan bin Saleh Tayyib stated that the kingdom had offered, over the past four decades, many of the development aid to African countries of which the non-refundable aid amounted to 30 billion US dollars, while loans which were exempted from these countries amounted to six billion US dollars at a time the Saudi Development Fund presented six billion dollars in soft relief loans for financing (345) relief projects and programs in (44) African countries in health, education, social, housing and infrastructure sector. In his statement to SPA, Tayyib explained that the Kingdom has signed (seven) development agreements, at a total value of $ 500,000,000 with the African side, along with contributions to the establishment of several financial institutions with the amount of one billion US dollars, such as Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (ABEDA) and African Development Fund (ADF), noting that the Kingdom is the largest shareholder in this regard.
