The Customs Officers have managed of seizing a total 24 million units of counterfeit and fake materials, 4,238 kilograms of drugs, 6,2 million narcotic pills and 68,000 bottles of wine during the first quarter of 2014. This came in a report of the General Customs Department for the first quarter of 2014. A copy of the report was obtained by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The spokesman for the Customs Isa Al-Qudhibi said that the number of seized cases of banned materials in the first quarter of 2014 decreased 23% compared to the fourth quarter of 2013, citing the great efforts being exerted by the Saudi Customs to combat this phenomenon and their success in this area.
