Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday afternoon. The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session that the Cabinet was briefed on reports on the situations in the region, the latest developments at the international arena, and issues on local affairs. On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Cabinet renewed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's call on the international community for continuing support for the Palestinian people in all their peaceful endeavors to gain their natural legitimate rights and taking clear and concrete steps to lift the injustice suffered by them, stressing the importance that the peace process talks between the two sides lead to achievement of a just and comprehensive peace that enables the Palestinian people to recover all their rights within their own independent state. The Cabinet was briefed on a report on the 129th session of the Foreign Ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Kuwait in preparation for the 34th session of the leaders of the GCC States to be hosted by Kuwait , and also on the session's topics on the latest Arab, regional and international developments of interest to Gulf Cooperation Council States. The Cabinet commended the decisions of the 32nd meeting of the GCC Ministers of Interior held in Bahrain, which will contribute to enhancing security cooperation and common coordination among the GCC States to confront security dangers through security strategies and plans to strengthen the security and stability in the GCC States. The Council of Ministers welcomed the recommendations issued by the World Conference on the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and his Rights on Humanity organized by the Islamic University of Madinah. The cabinet welcomed the recommendations' emphasis of the magnitude of the rights of the Prophet Mohammed bin Abdullah, blessings and peace upon him, and seeking to adopt an international resolution criminalizing abuse to him and the rest of the honored apostles and prophets and a world charter for the respecting the prophets and apostles (peace be upon them). The Minister of Culture and Information said that the cabinet was briefed on a report on what is being said against the Kingdom of errors after the expiry of the deadline for correction of the conditions of violators of residence and work regulations in the Kingdom, stressing that an opportunity was given to offenders to correct their conditions with exemptions and facilities followed by a follow-up of the application of regulations on those who did not take the initiative to correct their situation, despite the opportunity given to them. The cabinet stated that the application of regulations which have been applied will continue firmly and accurately taking into account fairness and justice and the preservation of the rights of expatriates with care and attention according to the requirements of bilateral, regional and international regulations and conventions. The Council commended the opening of the exhibition innovation 2013 titled - with innovation, we build a knowledge base society in its third session - which was opened on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Muhammad, the Minister of Education. Dr. Khoja added that the Cabinet continued the discussion of its agenda and issued the following decisions : First: The Cabinet approved the appointment of Mohammed bin Saleh Al- Daham( Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning ), as a member of the board of directors of the General Organization for Saudi Arabian Airlines . Second: After reviewing the report submitted by the Minister of Finance, the Cabinet decided as follows: 1 - Approval of increasing the Kingdom's share in the capital of Arab Monetary Fund by 44,475,000 (forty-four million, four hundred and seventy-five thousand Arabic accounting dinars and transferring it to the Fund's account, according to the scheduled installments. 2 - Approval of increasing the Kingdom's share in the capital of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development by an amount of 119,955,050 (one hundred and nineteen million, nine hundred and fifty-five thousand and fifty) Kuwaiti Dinars, and transferring it to the Fund's account, according to the scheduled installments. 3 - Approval of increasing the Kingdom's share in the capital of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa by an amount of 171,238,110 / 96/ (one hundred and seventy one million, two hundred and thirty-eight thousand, one hundred and ten U.S. dollars and ninety six cents, and transferring it to the Bank's account, according to the scheduled installments. Third: The Cabinet approved the appointment of Dr Azzam bin Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Dakhil and Khalid bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Khowaiter as two members of the private sector in the board of directors of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation for a period of three years from the date of entry into force of the decision. Fourth: The Cabinet approved an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on encouraging and reciprocal protection of investments signed in the city of Tashkent on 04/07/1432 AH. Fifth: The Cabinet approved appointments at rank 14 as follows : 1- Eng Abdulrahman bin Yousef bin Hamoud Al Hamad as consultant civil engineer at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs. 2- Saleh bin Ahmed bin Mubarak Al-Ghamdi as Regions Affairs' Adviser at the Ministry of Interior. 3- Dakhail-Allah bin Mahmood bin Dakhail-Allah as Assistant Undersecretary for Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior. 4- Mohammed bin Othman bin Abdulaziz to Althabit a consultant of salaries and allowances at the Ministry of Civil Service. 5- Suleiman bin Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Albatli a Director General of the General Office of the President at the General Presidency at the Commission of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. The Cabinet discussed a number of general topics on its agenda, including annual reports by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and the Authority for Food and Drug for previous financial years. The cabinet made appropriate directions toward them.
