More than 30 suspects were arrested Wednesday in concerted raids in Belgium, France and Switzerland after a 50-million-dollar diamond heist in February at the Brussels airport, dpa cited Belgian and Swiss prosecutors as saying. About 200 police officers searched 40 apartments in the early hours, mostly in Brussels, and secured some of the haul, according to Sudpresse news group. Prosecutors in Geneva said 100,000 Swiss francs (106,000 dollars) in cash and "a large quantity of diamonds" were found in the Swiss city that borders France. The value of the gemstones is still being evaluated. Eight suspects were arrested in Geneva. They included a businessman and a lawyer, who are suspected of handling stolen property and obstructing justice. French police detained a man who is suspected to be one of the masterminds of the heist, while 24 people were arrested in Belgium
