Majlis Al-Shura Speaker Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh and members of Majlis Al-Shura took the oath of office before the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the King's palace in Riyadh today. Excerpts of verses of the Quran were recited to commence the session. the Speaker and members of Majlis Al-Shura each said 'I swear in the name of God the Almighty to be sincere to my religion, king and nation, not to divulge any of the State's secrets, but to maintain its interests and rules and to fulfill my work with the most possible credibility, sincerity, and fairness'. Addressing them, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said: 'In the name of Allah most gracious most merciful, Prayer and Peace be upon the messenger of Allah, his family and all his companions, Dear Brothers and Sisters, the members of the Shura Council, Alsalamu Alaykum Warahmatu Allahi Wabarakatu (Peace, mercy and blessing of Allah be upon you) It gives me a great pleasure to meet with you at the opening of the first year of the sixth term of Majlis Ashura, the first to witness the participation of women, appealing to Allah Almighty to help you reach wise opinion and consultation. Our concerted goal is based on the trust in Allah Almighty to help you activate the works of the Council with the most rational thinking that not be dragged to hasty that involve noisy uproar without tangible results. The advancement which we are all seeking is based on graduation away from any influence. You have to know that your presence in Majlis Al-Shura is a duty and representation of the Saudi society segments rather than an honor. So, this job levies its own responsibility by encouraging you to upgrade your performance and keep rational as discussing and deciding any issue that you are going to take. Let me appeal to God Almighty to make your task a success. Alsalamu Alaykum Warahmatu Allahi Wabarakatu'.
