The 12th Islamic Summit started today its works in the Egyptian capital under the chairmanship of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. As many as 56 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are participating in the Summit, which is held under the motto 'The Islamic world: new challenges and a growing opportunity.' The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the summit is led, on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud by Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. The opening session of the Summit began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
