The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that the Palestinian issue is truly a very important for the regional and international security and peace, especially under the current circumstances of Middle East. This came during the speech of Saudi Arabia delivered by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mualami before the regular session of the Security Council to discuss the situation in the Middle East and Palestinian issue. The Ambassador Al-Mualami said that since the UN's issuance of the resolution of granting Palestine non-member observer state at the United Nations, Israel deliberately continued to expand settlements and increase the number of housing units in existing settlements. The Saudi Ambassador expressed the Kingdom's deep concern, as a sponsor of Islamic sanctities, about Israeli practices in Al-Quds, affirming the illegal of Israeli laws and practices in Al-Quds Al-Sharif. He added that it's time to lift the permanent immunity from Israel and take action on granting the State of Palestine independence and end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, as well as ending the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Arab Golan Heights and the rest of Lebanese occupied territories, stressing that the continuation of the current situation is a waiver of the credibility of the United Nations and the Security Council. With regard to the Syrian crisis, Al-Mualami said that it became clear that the Syrian regime has lost its legitimacy and is no longer able to stay in power while fighting desperately to keep its chair. He said that Saudi Arabia is watching painfully what happens in Syria and has been quick to provide humanitarian relief aid for the people of the brotherly Syrians valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, urging the Security Council to respond to the appeal of the Syrian people and the High Commissioner for human Rights and to act in a swift and decisive manner under Chapter VII to stop the killings by the Syrian regime and to work towards a real peaceful transfer of authority.
