On the Occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Hillary Rodham Clinton, the US Secretary of State, said, 'As we mark the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and prayer for Muslims around the world, I am delighted to wish all Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid al-Fitr.' In a statement issued by the US Department of State, the secretary added, 'In times of change and uncertainty, the celebration of these common values brings us together and emphasizes the importance of greater cooperation and cross-cultural understanding.'
