The number of Syrians in need of humanitarian aid has grown to 1.5 million, raising the estimate by 50 per cent, dpa quoted the United Nations as saying Friday in Geneva. 'It's because we have been seeing ongoing relentless violence,' said Jens Laerke, spokesman of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). At the same time, aid organizations were struggling to reach those in need of food or shelter, he told dpa.
