The value of goods received by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the year 2011 totaled SR 495.57 billion with a weightage exceeding 64 million tons, while the value of exports amounted to SR 157.5 billion with a weightage accounting for more than 48 million tons. This was stated by a Spokesman of Saudi Customs Abdullah Al-Kharboush who said that customs duties on imports amounted to SR 20.6 billion. Out of this amount SR 17.8 billion have been actually collected and the remaining SR 2.8 billion fees incurred by the state. On the other hand, the exemptions for industrial or other purposes according to the unified Customs Regulation were estimated to be nearly SR 6 billion.
