With what weapon does Damascus threaten the world?!
Al Riyadh Word
Published in Alriyadh on 15 - 10 - 2011

Al Asad the father knew how to run his external policies and balance them with the smart maneuver standards to get out of problems with fast initiatives, but the son, with his country's team, lost the meaning of the crises management concept with an awareness that don't embarrasses the other side and take them into the confusion and imbalanced problems.
Syria these days is welcoming the remains of the left-wing countries in Latin America, and when we add to them Iran and Iraq, the image gets complete in the mind of the political management that this country is expecting any role that imposes a siege on it, and the fiery statements of Waleed Al Moalem and his usage of ultimate threatening language saying that each country that acknowledges the National Council will face strict procedures from Damascus, and no body knows if Syria will punish the world's countries by disrupting the maritime navigation by stopping ships and crossing flocks from the sensitive sites, or stopping the air flights and sending its planes, missiles, and ships to America's and Europe's shores, or using its power to cause a blockage of international business and carrying huge losses?
Syria is a country and the people are dominant in case a suitable environment for coexistence between the classes of the society was existing, but for the internal to divide and to announce rebellion despite the cost of the freedom is something else, meaning the citizens are the core, and the authority is the small margin, but it seems that the politicians in Damascus are effected by the serial surprises that closed their thoughts and the balanced diplomatic style, and the spread confusion situation ant be resolved by marginal countries that meet with Syria's government to support it, and it will not be an exception from other Arab countries which terminated its systems and pushed them to either escaping, asylum or trial.
Lets take a small part of the current situation, the American ambassador is going through Syria's cities and meets the opposition members, and standing as a witness on what is happening, and the importance of this movement is stronger than a country's acknowledgement in the National Council. Nevertheless we didn't find a movement that matches the saying of Al Moalem to expel the ambassador with the justification of him violating the relation "protocol" between the two countries. In fact this confirms that Damascus is in need of him to stay so that the counter procedure doesn't come from the great country by expelling the Syrian ambassador and putting additional punishments.
Al Moalem is supposed to be the sanity voice in this increase of crises, where instead of taking invalid slogans because of its obsolescence and variability, he should say the truth in his statements to gain the amiability of those supporting his country, but the scene revealed the threatening and blinded style that has no notable influence.
The bet between the fall of the system and its continuity is judged by different circumstances, the most notable of them is the will of the citizen that wants freedom and dignity. Different countries, organizations and groups acknowledge these demands, meaning that the opposition has an international support that strongly stands with this right, and the evidence is that Syria didn't take a step to make any of its procedures that it threatens of doing, and it is the one that is boycott from the strongest countries that it deals with and needs them.
Media can justify, falsify facts and convince those that deals with it internally and externally, but for the justification to comes that agents played the secret role to provoke the citizens and that the situation is under control is a logic that opposes reality, meaning that showing the reality from the battle field is in the hands of everyone that experiences the event or is close to it, and this there is no place or misleading media nor a policy that justifies its positions by threatens that lack active weapons!
