The economic attraction factor that really contributed in building the reputation of Switzerland as a safe escape is the rule of banking confidentiality, which is hard to be broken, where the Swiss law don't allow looking into or sharing any banking information for any reason. Add to this that the banks there deal in a coded system that is more than two hundred years old so that wouldn't allow even the employees to know that owners of the accounts that they are dealing with.
