The president of Hadhem Dates and Agricultural Marketing Company and the member of the National Committee for Dates and Palms in the Saudi Chambers Council Abdelaziz Bin Abdulla Al Tuwaijry sees that Buraida resembles 22% of the Kingdom's production of dates by producing 238 thousand tons, and the increase rate in Buraida is more than the kingdom's date production rate by 10%. The supervisor if the Ali Al Mushaity Establishment for Agricultural Marketing Mohammad Ali Al Mushaity mentioned that the slow production this year will help the stability of the market and will supply dates in equal rates, where the farms didn't supply most of its dates production, which makes the market working in only 25% until now. He also assured that 70% of the sales is after Taraweh prayer while the other rates remain for the morning period and afternoon because the market works on three time periods currently, pointing that the prices are between 250 and 130 Riyals for the Sukkari number one of 3 Kilos weight, while the prices of the other dates types are not stable. Marketer Nasser Al Ammar pointed that the beginnings are average in prices from 60 and 90 Riyals for the Sukkari of the Muftal type, expecting that it increases by 30% this year compared to last year because of the low number of stored dates and the increasing demand and low supply of 10% this year due to the decrease in temperature below the usual rate which will make the market extend over a longer time. He also assured that the quality of dates this year is lower than the previous year because of not rationing the used chemicals, which delayed its development as well as prevent watering by the labors that buy the seed to reduce the water level in dates to make it more yellow in color, which is what the foreign investor wants to change the dates colors to be more yellow and to sell the dates with higher prices, which harm the palm in the future. Trader Saleh Abdulla Al Arini assured that the labor crisis became a problem and that their work of storing, cleaning and packaging dates in massive quantities and exporting them to the Kingdom's regions is throughout the whole year. He also added that the Dates City became distinguished by the organizing that increased the buying quantities to reach to 100 cars in less than 30 minutes and the buying way that occurs through a bill without any public sale, which facilitates the selling procedure quickly and the car can leave the area with all comfort because of the excellent systems through the multiple lanes that reach 25 lanes. Trader Humod Ayed assured that the dates are transformed to Madina and Taef in daily orders of about 15 tons, assuring that the dates market in Buraida is considered to be the main destination for the traders and producers locally and externally, calling for investing this product to create new job opportunities for the youth in selling, creating and professional marketing.
