Housemaid visa transform jumps to 25 thousand Riyals, and a condensed activity of the brokers with the beginning of Ramadan
Warning of using per day housemaids that are linked to criminal groups
Published in Alriyadh on 01 - 08 - 2011

The prices of transforming the sponsorship of housemaids jumped to unprecedented numbers with the beginning of Ramadan and the effectiveness of stopping bringing in housemaids from Asian countries. The prices of transforming the sponsorship ranged between 25 and 30 thousand per housemaid.
This comes in the time where the unauthorized offices to bring in housemaid are renting housemaids in irregular ways that make use of the Saudi families' circumstances and renting the housemaids with prices that are currently exceeding four thousand riyals.
In their talk to "Al Riyadh" about the bringing in activity, the investors warned from following the broker offices that are active these days with making rental processes of the housemaids in an hourly, daily and weekly bases, and called for the importance of raising the awareness level of the Saudi families since the majority of those rental housemaids are linked to criminal groups that help these groups in knowing all what is related to the house and the family.
The investors requested to limit the growth of the housemaids in the local market by expanding the creation of kindergartens in the residence neighborhoods of the Kingdom's cities, in order to get rid of the housemaids and recruit a Saudi female staff in these kindergartens, which will contribute in raising the level of care to those children instead of putting all of those duties on the foreigner housemaid. The president of the bringing in committee of Jeddah's chamber Yahya Maqbool called the Saudi families to revise the continuous dependency on housemaids and overusing them, requesting them to reduce the usage of foreigner housemaids, in addition to the importance of self-security by the families themselves by immediately notifying any labor violations before it goes out of control, which might be hard to deal with. Maqbool also called the Saudi families to not follow the brokerage offices to rent housemaid that are currently active to make use of the families circumstances where they rent an unknown housemaid while a lot of them are related to criminal groups that facilitate the robbery operations for these groups.
On the other had, Waleed Al Swaidan, one of the investors in the bringing in activity, requested to limit the growth of the housemaids in the local market by creating kindergartens i in the residence neighborhoods of the Kingdom's cities, in order to get rid of the housemaids and recruit a Saudi female staff in these kindergartens, which will also contribute in Al Suwaidan's view in raising the level of care to those children instead of putting all of those duties on the foreigner housemaid. He also said that this step would reduce the dependency of the Saudi families on housemaids to about 50%. The issue of bringing in housemaids in the local market should be resolved in the coming months with after the announcement of establishing five big companies in Riyadh, Shargya region, Jeddah and Mecca with capitals ranging between 50 and 100 million riyals for each company, which will have among their services organizing the bringing in labors for others as well as providing labor services.
And according to the confirmations of the vice minister of labor Dr. Mofrej Al haqbani, the new companies will start its activities in a maximum period of one year from the issuance of its license, and the ministry has the right to renew the duration if convincing reasons were provided with a decision of the minister. In such situation, each established company, according to the terms of the list, will have 1000 visas for each bringing in office that contributes in establishing the company.
