The other side of knowledge
Published in Alriyadh on 22 - 07 - 2011

I wrote an article before nearly five years where I questioned the possibility of creating knowledge and exploding it inside the brain (in the way of inception), and back then I questioned if the emergency variables that happen in the brain chemistry (due to disease, accident or specific drugs) are able to explode some sudden skills or knowledge, giving the example of great characters that possessed a shocking skill after a specific age (such as the genius Al Jaadi that mastered poetry while old)!
Today I read a similar news about a man in his fifties called Tommy Mikehej who has a shocking skills in drawing and imitating great paintings after he had two brain drain accidents. Before the first accident in February 2001, Tommy used to work in construction and didn't have any relation to drawing or art at all, but he suddenly felt an urge to draw and deal with colors after his first accident. When he had his second drain, drawing became a concern for him and an obsession where he produced a lot of paintings, which were shown recently in a medical conference for nerves doctors that was held in Virginia as a prove of the existence of a vague relation between the materialistic variables in the brain and the presence of some sudden skills.
Another situation was shown in the conference for a teacher that had a sexual lust and obsession with kids after he got a cancerous tumor in the brain. He gradually started getting dirty sexual thoughts that controlled him which forced him to resign from his work in some elementary schools. This lust was accompanied with sever headache and shaky sight, which led him to check with nerves doctor called Jeffery Burners in Virginia University. After he did the check ups the doctors found that he has a cancerous tumor in his front lobe of the brain that has to be removed immediately, and after the surgery the man was shocked that he was back to his normal state where he didn't expect that the tumor had to do with the abnormal state that he was in before the surgery. The doctor commented on what happened by saying that there is a possibility that the tumor affected the level of hormone excretions in the body, which engendered sever sexual lust within him. (According to BBC website)
I recall that I received a lot of comments after publishing the first article that were falling in the same direction, where one of the readers reassured this possibility by saying that she knows a similar story that happened to one of her relatives who had a car accident and resulted in brain drain and a comma for a month. After his stay in the hospital for a long period of time he came back to studies with a higher level of intelligence and a shocking study level, and his understanding was way better than before. Al Sebaiyi in the other hand said that he experienced the same thing in person where he had a psychological disease that required taking some special psychological medicines. After a while he got a huge inspiration in computer science to the extinct that he wrote two books in computer science field that are spread to read online for free, and he doesn't know what is exactly the thing he experienced but he is to write a lot of books in the future and that he loves knowledge more than before and he thinks that he find reality from that article, even if it's a little!
Those examples (that I add to the historical examples of the previous article) assure the presence of a mutual influence between the scientific knowledge and the real variables that exist in the brain; Just as the brain chemistry changes and the communication rate between its cells increases when we traditionally learn something (while the opposite may happen) and some forced accidents in the brain lead to exploding specific skills and sudden kinds of understanding and knowledge!
Imam Ghazali talks in his book (Ehyaa Oloom Al Den) about two ways to get knowledge: the first through the known senses (such as sight and hearing) and the second as an inspiration that Allah gives for those he wells to give.
(And for whoever wants) an open end that accommodates any possibility and probability.
