The stem cells unit in the scientific research center of Al Taef University implanted before yesterday the first set of stem cells, which are distinguished by its ability to transform into cell types in the implanted organ, which enables the body of repairing the damaged tissues. The stem cell research unit is aiming to benefit from the other applications that the researches discovered in developing treatments for a lot of diseases and injuries. The researches that are taking place in the unit are concerned with treating the damages of brain and spinal cords that are a result of car accidents, and in repairing the burnt skin and some diseases such as diabetes and cardiac diseases, strokes, heart attacks, lung and bones injuries, and treatments for tumors. In the same context a delegation from Muntache Univeristy in Australia are currently visiting Al Taef University asa part of the cooperation agreement between the two universities to establish a stem cell research unit in the scientific reseach center of Al Taef University to discuss establishing scientific research labs and the other infrastructures that are supposed to be provided for the stem cells researches.
