Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Salam Palace here today.At the outset of the session, the Cabinet discussed the latest developments at the regional and international arenas and their repercussions, particularly in a number of Arab countries. The Cabinet reiterated the firm stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the international peace and security and kingdom commitment to stemming bloodshed in Arab countries and attending to those events to ensure the security and stability of the Arab countries.
The Cabinet condemned the attacks of Israeli occupation authorities on the palaces of the Umayyad Caliph, south of the Blessed Aqsa Mosque and the excavations conducted in Al-Quds in flagrant violation of international law in order to blur and destroy Islamic landmarks. The Cabinet called on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the UN concerned agencies to stop such violations. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said the Cabinet discussed the economic, cultural and youth activities during the week, including the order of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to link the network of the Saudi railways company 'SAR' in Ras Al-Zour with Dammam through Jubail Industrial City. The kings order for a railway link is of vital importance for the development of the Kingdoms economy.
The Cabinet expressed appreciation of the Kings patronage and permanent support for the youth and sports occasions, as well as establishing sports facilities that help young people to perform their activities and to spend their leisure time in activities of advantage to themselves and their community. The Cabinet hailed the King's order to change the place of establishing a new sports city in Jeddah to an area within the city and to immediately begin to expand the existing Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.
The Minister of Culture and Information added that the Cabinet has lauded the holding of Prince Sultan's Competition for the Memorization of the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah for South Eastern and Central Asian nations in the Indonesian Capital, Jakarta, pointing to its noble goals and positive impact on the new generations of young Muslims.
The Cabinet underscored, too, the significance of a qualitative information technology move applied by the Ministry of Education concerning the results of exams through Nour program for both intermediate and secondary grades, wishing our male and female students, all success.
Dr. Khoja further said the Cabinet, in tandem with the beginning of the summer holiday season which is ushering preparations and festivals declared by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) throughout the entire regions of the Kingdom, has urged the SCTA, other governmental bodies and the private sector to exert more efforts to accommodate tourist sites and services in the regions of the Kingdom to serve citizens who increasingly choose to spend their vacations inside the Kingdom, citing the importance of introducing them to the various tourist potentials the Kingdom enjoys, its bless of security and advancement, in addition to the economic advantages and provision of more labor opportunities for citizens in several regions.
The Minister said the Cabinet discussed a number of topics on its agenda and issued the following decisions:
The Cabinet approved the administrative reorganization of the Ministry of Social Affairs as prescribed in the decision.
The Cabinet approved to reactivate the role of the existing National Centre for Social Studies and Research at the Ministry of Social Affairs and to reorganize it in order to be directly attached to the Minister of Social Affairs. The assignments and capacities of the centre are to be in accordance with terms prescribed in the decision.
The Cabinet approved a general cooperation agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of Eritrea signed in Riyadh, 16/10/2010.
The Cabinet approved to re-form of the Committee for settlement of Disputes and Insurance's Disputes since 25/7/1432H as follows:
1- Saleh bin Khalid Al-Hadlaq, Chairman
2- Dr. Saleh bin Abdulrahman Al-Mahmoud, Member
3- Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Nqithan, Member
The Cabinet approved licensing to establish a Saudi shareholding company under the name of 'Saudi Einaya Cooperative Insurance Company'.
The Cabinet approved the organization of the Saudi Association for Quality.
