On behalf of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Region, patronized here this evening the final soccer match on Crown Prince's cup between Al-Hilal from Riyadh and Al-Wohda from Makkah at King Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Makkah. At the venue, he was received by Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, General President of Youth Welfare, who is also Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Soccer Federation, and a number of officials. Then the match between Al-Hilal and Al-Wohda started. Following the first half which ended 1- love for Al-Hilal, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal handed over the Silver Star awarded to Mohammed Ramadan, a Saudi sports commentator, by the Asian soccer Federation in recognition of his 25-year-old sports career. Completely controlling the second half, Al-Hilal crushed its host with four more goals to end the match 5-0 and win the precious trophy. Memorial gifts were handed to Prince Khalid Al-Faisal by the two teams' leaders. Then the Governor of Makkah gave away the silver medals and premium of the second place to Al-Wohda players, followed by the Crown Prince's cup, the golden medals and first place premium to Al-Hilal players. In a statement following the closing ceremony, Prince Khalid expressed, in his own name and on behalf of Makkah people, thanks to Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz for holding this match in Makkah, giving its people a rare opportunity to watch the finals of Crown Prince's cup. He extended thanks too to Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz for the efforts exerted by the Youth Welfare to hold the Crown Prince's final match in Makkah for the first time. Prince Khalid congratulated Al-Hilal for winning the title, wishing Al-Wohda good luck. For his part, Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz thanked Prince Khalid Al-Faisal for patronizing the match and Makkah people for giving the match a special taste.He noted that the event is yet another evidence that soccer facilities are everywhere in the Kingdom ready to host the high-profile finals. He thanked the monarch, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier for their continuous support for an d interest in youth and sports of the Kingdom.
