A Barcelona official says record January transfer deals have hurt the Spanish champion's chances of signing Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.Vice president Javier Faus says the club has ¤40 million to ¤45 million ($55 million to $61 million) to spend this summer but fears British record fees paid for Fernando Torres and Andy Carroll could put Fabregas out of reach. Faus says on RAC-1 radio those prices «will affect Arsenal's evaluation of the player.» Arsenal rejected Barcelona's formal bid for Fabregas _ who came up through Barcelona's academy before joining the Gunners _ last summer. Chelsea paid 50 million pounds (60 million; $80 million) for Torres, while Liverpool spent 35 million pounds (41 million; $56 million) on Carroll.
