Travel and tourism offices had witnessed great scramble from the Saudi families in the current week after finishing of the academic exams to change their travel destinations and bookings from Beirut and Cairo which are suffered from unstable security situations, and changed their travel destinations to many of the gulf cities, led by Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Manama, Kuwait and Musqat according to the travel booking lists of the local tourism offices.
That comes at the time of appearing more fears from the Saudi families that the gulf hotel can use the direction of the Saudi families to increase its prices which is done in previous times in many of gulf and Arabic countries to increase the prices in the times of receiving the Saudi tourists with percentages that reach in many times to forty percent (40 %).
In the same time, the Saudi specialists in the field of travel and tourism expected the increment of prices of furnished apartments in the internal tourism areas in the kingdom like eastern area which expected to be crowded with Saudi tourists in the light of the current situations that Jeddah city is suffered from, which witnessed great damages in its infrastructures that affected the attraction of the tourist toward the city, which culminate the tourism facilities in Jeddah with great financial losses.
On the other hand, Doctor Naser Al Thayar, Vice Chairman and Executive Manager of Al Thayar Travel Group said to "Al Riyadh" that the current confused situations in Egypt cancelled all travel bookings of the Saudi families to Cairo as these familes had changed their destinations to the Gulf cities like Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, in addition to directing of some Saudi families in few numbers to European countries.
And mentioned that most of Saudi families had cancelled their bookings to Cairo and Beirut after the official warnings issued by Ministry of Interiors and directing to internal tourism because the current climates are suitable to spend vacations inside the kingdom.
Al Thayar did not put a side in the same line the increment of the prices of hotels and services in the gulf countries as a result of Saudis interesting, and their focus in gulf countries, mentioning that the matter is subject to offer and request, and the Saudi tourist had many options to choose from between many tourism services.
From his side, Moheeb Al Mohaideb, General Manager of Al Sarh Travel and Tourism said that all previous bookings of Saudi families to Beirut and Cairo had cancelled at all in the view of the current unstable situations and the desire of the families to go to the gulf areas.
And mentioned that the bookings of the Saudi families had rose last week to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, especially according to the availability of places and the tourism components which are suitable for the Saudi families and its close to the kingdom which result huge load of booking requests that led to unavailability of seats for the travellers on the local or gulf airlines due to great crowd and strong interesting from the individuals and families to travel to gulf cities.
Al Mogaidab indicated to the importance of early booking by the Saudi tourists for the external flights with enough time from one to two months prior to the travel date which decrease the hotel prices with percentages between thirty (30) to fifty (50 %) percent, which contribute – according to Al Muhaideb - in managing the budget of travel professionally, then decrease the travel total cost, that was begin to be implemented by many Saudi families during the last few years. The General Manager of Al Sarh Travel and Tourism - at the end of his speech - requested from Saudi and Emirate airlines companies the necessity of providing an additional flights for the Saudi tourists to the gulf cities that desired and preferred by the Saudi families, especially after their cancellation of their previous bookings to Cairo and Beirut in the view of their unstable security situations these days, which increase the request of providing and additional flights to the gulf cities after completion of all current bookings completely.
