Collapsing of 21 houses in the historical area in Jeddah . . evacuation of 40 before collapsing .
Residents refuse to obey the officials' orders.

More than forty ( 40 ) families who are living in the old houses in the historical area refused to obey the request of the officials to evacuate the houses that being threatened by collapsing after the collapsing of twenty one ( 21 ) houses free of residents because of rains .
The remaining houses are facing the danger of collapsing in any moment especially that the majority of those residents are from the Africans that took these houses are their shelter during their existence in the historical city , in the downtown area .
The officials and the relevant authorities had warned those residents to evacuate their houses quickly to avoid bearing the responsibility of the consequences and other procedures that may took place .
No injuries had been known during the collapsing of the houses due to rains because it was completely empty of residents , some of which are very old buildings that consisting of six floors , this area are considered the most damaged area , where it witnessed during the last two years collapsing of more than one building that resulted many victims of residents because the small spaces between it , in addition to some of these building have more than seventy ( 70 ) years of age and still used as stores and as a home for some illegal residents .

Where one of the area residents emphasized that these houses are threatened by collapsing whither because of rains or otherwise because the heavy load on the buildings by a huge number of residents who are mostly from Africans or the machines equipment's that cause cracks on the buildings , as a result of that that houses are being collapsing before the actual collapsing .
He added that unfortunately those residents did not implement the laws and regulations related to evacuation or relieving the huge number of residents , while their respond was only the complete ignorance where they do not have any other shelter except these houses which became look like abandoned .

Engineer Sami Nawar the general supervisor of the historical city had emphasized that the rains caused the collapsing of these houses , and said : " we are trying to keep the heritage of this area through the historical museum which has all interest and appreciation by the officials in Jeddah City , and for these houses , it is already about collapsing since long time ago , but unfortunately there is a category of residents are refusing to obey the orders issued from officials to save their personal lives before any thing " .
He added also : " it is expected to deal with these residents strictly fearing of collapsing other buildings within the next few days in the light of expectations of the forecasting authority about rains in the next few days " .
