The General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its hope that Iran will be clearer and more cooperative about the investigations it has undertaken on attacks on the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and Consulate in Mashhad and work hard to bring positions closer to avoid any escalation and raise any ambiguity that more complicates the file emanating from adherence to the principles of the Charter of the Organization which all members have undertaken to respect. The OIC General Secretariat stressed the importance of adopting transparency and integrity in the interest of the two parties and in respect for the legitimate demands of the Saudi side based on the relevant resolutions of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Abidjan, Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963, and the international law that protects the inviolability of diplomatic missions accredited to any State.
