The new Two Holy Mosques (Haramain) Train is scheduled to ferry 350,000 pilgrims on 1,000 weekly shuttles during this year's Haj season, the Makkah Governorate announced Saturday. The train halts at nine stations distributed equally between Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina – that is, three stations per sector. Each train of a total of 17 will consist of a12-air conditioned carriages, each with a capacity of 250 passengers. Each carriage will be equipped with five doors for easy boarding and alighting of passengers. The train project, considered an important accomplishment of the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, will link Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah when fully completed. It serves pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors to the holy lands.
