There are several questions that come to mind. Why do Iran and Qatar try to politicize the Haj? What do they stand to gain from it? Does it in any way serve the interests of the Muslim nation? The simple answer to these questions is that such a political game is a desperate attempt to tear Muslims apart, quite contrary to what the Haj stands for – Muslim solidarity. The Haj ritual is mentioned in the Holy Quran: "The pilgrimage is in the appointed months. (For) whosoever undertakes the pilgrimage, there is no approaching (women), neither transgression nor disputing in the pilgrimage. Allah is aware of whatever good you do. Provide well for yourselves, the best provision is piety. Fear Me, O owners of minds." Allah, Almighty, orders us to dedicate Haj to Him exclusively and not to corrupt them rituals by sparking controversies. However, this is exactly what the Iranians are doing. It was evident as early as in 1407H when Iran tried to strike discord among Muslims by floating political thoughts that have no relevance to the Haj ritual. Iran's deviant polices are aimed at causing disagreements among Muslims. It is indeed regretful that a brotherly country such has Qatar has joined hands with Iran, though it is trying to maintain an innocent front. Doha is of the view that this approach is in its own interest, though it knows well in its heart of hearts that Iran is a country that cannot be trusted at all.
