All signs indicate that Qatar is going ahead with its plans to completely fall into the lap of the Persians. The political and media romance between the two sides is visible to all. The latest telltale sign came in Iran's Eid message to Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, assuring him of full support in his country's standoff with its neighbors. According to a report published by Jam-e-Jam Online, Iranian President Hassan Rouhan called the Qatari Emir and stressed on the need to further develop bilateral relations, especially at the commercial level. He called for cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries. He indicated to the many opportunities existing to develop such relations. In a typical case of a predatory country fishing in troubled waters, Rouhani stressed that his country stands by Qatar in its crisis with its neighbors. Rohani also made it clear that the Iranian airspace and its land and sea ports are fully open to Qatar. Sheikh Tamim appreciated the Iranian position and valued the importance of developing closer ties between Doha and Tehran. The relationship between Doha and Tehran is not just a temporary marriage of convenience and is not a secret alliance. The two sides have made their relationship open without any shame or embarrassment. There are also clear signs that this alliance is moving beyond mere politics and economics, to also encompass their support for terrorist forces. Under this unequal relationship, which is surely not based on any strategic vision or backed by solid foundations, the smaller fish stands to be devoured by the bigger fish. Iran sees the peninsula as a ready treasure to be snatched, as reported by the Tasnim News Agency, in an article, "Treasure of Qatar to Iran." The report said, "Qatar is a small country, but a great treasure for Iran. It is the target of a greedy trader or pirate looking for treasures. It has now found the time right to make its dream a reality. Before this day, it was just an illusion." Al-Jazeera has made it a point not to cover anything that may seem downbeat for Iran. On the contrary it continues to polish the image of the Revolutionary Guard, particularly in light of the ongoing crisis. It even reports the threats issued by the Guard leaders against Saudi Arabia. Observers firmly believe that Qatar is making a big mistake by opening up to Iran in a disgraceful alliance, and creating obstacles for the other Gulf states. History has shown that the Persians have always ruined the land they have set foot on.
