Iran is greatly concerned over the appointment of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz as Crown Prince, as Tehran knows that he is fully capable of foiling its plans to destabilize the region. According to statements made by political experts in the Iranian media, the Crown Prince will firmly confront the aggressive policies adopted by the mullahs in the country. They include Iran's support for communal and terrorist groups in some Arab countries, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Houthis in Yemen. Besides, it continues to interfere in Iraq, Bahrain and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Experts are unanimous that the Iranians are growing restless with the appointment of the new Crown Prince. They are fully aware of his strength and clear vision to deal with the interventionist policies of the mullahs. They also know the role of Crown Prince Mohammad in launching Operation Decisive Storm to bring back the legitimate government in Yemen, blocking Iran's attempts to gain a foothold in the country. Iranians understand the confidence in Crown Prince Mohammad as the son of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and as a strong defense minister. Those who follow the affairs of Iran assert that Crown Prince Mohammad can ensure stability in the Kingdom's government for many years to come. He will be able to continue the policies of the Kingdom to curb Iranian designs in the region. The websites, which are funded by the Iranian regime and their followers in some of the countries, are now spreading falsehoods to undermine the success of the Crown Prince and the smooth transfer of power. These websites are also trying to cause confusion about the support of the Allegiance Council to Crown Prince Mohammad. Tehran knows that it will now need to revise its policies as per the positions taken by the Crown Prince in the past. The overwhelming welcome received by the Crown Prince on his appointment from the GCC states, Arab and Islamic countries, and the international community has also shaken Tehran, which is already reeling under the losses in Yemen. Political and diplomatic observers of the Middle East agree that the appointment of the Crown Prince was a starting point for more pro-active Arab policies to confront Iran. Such policies were not at place during last few decades which had resulted in the spread of Iranian influence in the some of the Arab countries including Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq. It has also come as a shock for the communal and terrorist organizations which work under Iran, including Houthis, Hezbollah and some other groups which work with Iranian support and finance to cause trouble in the region. The statements of the Crown Prince about the Saudi relations with Iran were unambiguous and candid. It indicated that there was no room for negotiations with the Iranian authorities which has the ideology based on terrorism and violation of sovereignty of other countries. He has made it clear that as long as Iran would not change its policies and practices, the Kingdom would not look into any proposals of cooperation. The policies of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz are aimed at blocking the way of Iranian interference in the affairs of the Arab countries which have a Sunni majority. These policies are reflected in the statements of Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. He has supported the legitimacy in Yemen and will fight for it against the Houthis through Operation Decisive Storm. He has further restored hope when he announced setting up of the Islamic military alliance in Riyadh. Political observers expect Iran to overcome its initial shock and revisit its policies, taking into consideration the tough stance adopted by the powerful Crown Prince and Minister of Defense. He has a strong and powerful vision against the practices of the regime of the mullahs. The deviant approach of Iran has only isolated it in the region and has harmed its relations with many Arab and Islamic countries. It has sullied its image globally. The only option left for Iran is to change its deviant ways. The Iranian opposition, which rejects the policies of the mullah regime, is expected to receive renewed support. It also reinforces efforts to impose international sanctions against Iran to force it to amend its policies as regards to the neighboring countries. Crown Prince Mohammed said in a recent interview: "We are the main target of the Iranian regime. We will not wait for the battle to take place in Saudi Arabia. Instead, we will work to ensure that the battle takes place near them in Iran." This statement has already sent jitters down the spine of the Iranian leadership.
