A leaked telephone call between Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Attiya, an advisor to the former Emir, and Hassan Sultan, a Bahraini fugitive terrorist, has exposed Doha's conspiracy to spread chaos in Bahrain, fanned by the Al-Jazeera channel. The telephone call made in March, 2011, which was broadcast by Bahrain Television on Friday, has bared Qatar's plans to overthrow the regime in Manama. The recording was of four conversations initiated by Sultan, seeking exchange of information and the names of the sources to appear on Al-Jazeera. In the first conversation, an assistant received Sultan's call and then passed it on to Al-Attiya. In that call, the Bahraini fugitive described the GCC's Peninsula Shield as an "occupation force," and called on Qatar to pull out of it. Al-Attiyah replied that Peninsula Shield did not include Qatari officers because of Doha's reservations to participate. He pointed out that there were only two Qatari officers in the force as observers. The Bahraini fugitive stressed on the sensitivity of Qatar's participation in the Shield in any form, and Al-Attiyah replied: Qatar is conservative and has therefore refused to send troops. At the end of the conversation, Al-Attiyah asked Hasan to inform him about developments in Bahrain and of the possibility of his visiting Bahrain. Sultan is a leader in the Dawa Party, and has played a key role in inciting violence in Bahrain in the mid-1990s. He fled to Lebanon in 2011 for fear of being arrested.
