The Yemeni Government today approved a security deployment plan to protect one of the vital and important roads in the eastern province of Marib. In a telephone conversation with the Chief of General Staff, Major General Muhammad Ali Al-Maqdashi, Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin Dagher called for the immediate deployment of the units of the National Army to secure the road "Al-Wadea-Alabar/Seoun Marib, and put an end to the criminal practices that are carried out from time to time by gangs targeting travelers and passers-by, which have recently increased significantly. Major General, bin Dagher called on the National Army to shoulder its full responsibility for securing public roads, as one of its priorities. Yemeni army made today a significant progress in its ongoing battles against Al-Houthi militias and pro-forces of the deposed Saleh in Taiz. According to the official spokesman of the National Army in Taiz Mansour Al-Hassani, the army launched a military operation in the western and southern directions of Taiz and took control of important positions from the coupists. He also said that "The army forces have inflicted heavy losses on Al-Houthi equipment and lives, and forced them to retreat and withdraw" stressing that the military operation and progress are continuing.
