Former England manager Fabio Capello has revealed that the most difficult player he ever managed was Brazilian striker Ronaldo. The duo worked together at Real Madrid but Ronaldo was struggling with injuries, primarily to his knee, while the ex-AC Milan manager was in the hot seat between 2006 and 2007. And while Capello complained about Ronaldo's fitness, the Italian boss suggested that he was the most talented player he had ever worked with. Capello said, as reported by Football Italia: 'The most difficult to handle was the best I coached: Ronaldo, 'Il Fenomeno'. 'I'll tell you why. I was in charge at Real, he came back from an injury and come to us in November to restart. 'He weighed 96 kilos, boxing stuff. I asked him how much he weighed when he won the World Cup and he said 84kg, so I asked him to at least get to 88. 'It was a shame, he didn't want to make the smallest sacrifice and the best he managed was 94kg. He played three games in partnership with [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy and we lost all three.' Capello has not officially retired as a manager, although he has not worked in the game since he was sacked as Russia boss in 2015. He has had a storied career, winning the Champions League with Milan in 1994 and nine league titles around the world. Ronaldo, regarded as one of the finest strikers to ever play the game, retired in 2011 after a spell with Corinthians.
