Saudi Arabia's strong Islamic, political, and economic position in the world makes it a key player in the international arena. The Kingdom also advocates strong anti-terror mechanisms to take on those who seek to disturb global peace and stability. At the same time, Saudi Arabia is an important figure in the global economy, notably in the energy sector, playing a significant role in the G-20 and other international forums. The Kingdom believes in coordinated efforts through dialogue that would lead to economic prosperity and all-round wellbeing among the common people. The successful hosting of the Islamic and Gulf summits in Riyadh recently, in the presence of US President Donald Trump, has given a tremendous boost to the Kingdom's competency in effective global diplomacy. Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reiterated the international leadership of Saudi Arabia on multiple fronts, including the economy. He has further advanced the Saudi-Russian oil accord, probably the most important agreement with non-OPEC members in the cartel's history. Moreover, Saudi Aramco and its Russian oil counterparts are expected to enhance cooperation in the upstream and downstream fields, and liquefied natural gas projects. The issue here is not the common interests that hold between Saudi Arabia and Russia, but the wider picture – that of the Kingdom's wide-ranging efforts to stabilize the oil market, and in turn the global economy. This is in the interest of all oil-producing countries as well as consumers. Saudi Arabia is thus playing an essentially important role in the global economy, and in effect, in the growth and development of communities around the world. .
