The Kingdom's population rose in the first half of 2017 to 32.6 million, an increase of about 870,000 compared to the end of last year 2016. Preliminary data released by the General Authority for Statistics showed that the number of citizens reached 20.4 million, equivalent to 63% of the total population. The number of non-Saudi residents reached 12.2 million, representing about 37% of the total population in the Kingdom. More than one-third of the population is between the ages of 25 and 44, accounting for 40% of the total count. On the other hand, the price index of metal products, machinery and equipment for April decreased by 2.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
