The Ministry of Interior has urged citizens traveling to European Union (EU) countries to abide by the laws and regulations of those countries within the framework of its concern for the safety of citizens traveling abroad. The Director General of Public Relations and Information Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Mara'oul, said that the ministry had received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the EU countries began to tighten control of their external borders as of Friday, 7/4/2017. He pointed out that the border guards in these countries will tighten the external control and intensify inspection of EU citizens, as well as citizens coming from non-member countries in a precautionary measure due to the attacks in Europe recently to ensure the security and safety of citizens of the Europe Union. Major General Al-Mara'oul said that the Ministry of Interior calls on all citizens to abide by regulations and instructions in those countries in the interest of their safety and not to be subjected to any punishment that may be caused by non-compliance with these regulations.
