Luis Suarez ended a five-game run without a goal in Barcelona's 3-0 derby victory over Espanyol on Saturday, but insists he was never pressing the panic button. Suarez bagged a brace as Luis Enrique's side secured another vital three points to keep pace with Real Madrid at the summit of La Liga. Ivan Rakitic also go on the scoresheet against Espanyol but Suarez stole the show with his drought-breaking contribution. 'Of course I am happy with the two goals I scored, for what they mean, but I want to make it clear that I wasn't obsessed about not scoring recently,' the 30-year-old told Movistar. 'These things happen in football. The important thing is to help the team, it doesn't matter who scores the goals.' Real Madrid regained the lead at the top of the table earlier on Saturday with a thrilling last-gasp win against Valencia thanks to Marcelo's late winner. The win saw Zinedine Zidane's side take a three-point lead in the standings, with a game in hand, but Barca responded to that challenge with a comprehensive victory over their local rivals later in the day. It sets up a fascinating final month of the season with Real and Barca locked on 81 points apiece. Certainly, Suarez has found his goal-scoring touch at the right time. 'It was not an easy game at all. Espanyol came out well in the first half and were well organised in defence,' added the Uruguay forward. 'We couldn't find a solution. But thanks to our intensity, desire and ambition we didn't give up and the goal eventually arrived and calmed us down. 'The win today was priceless, of course. We have to win everything, the three games we have left, there's nothing else. We just have to keep winning and keep the pressure on.'
