The International Union of Jurists condemned the death sentence handed down by a court of al-Houthi and Saleh's militia against Yemeni journalist Yahya al-Jubeihi. "This sentence violates the freedom of the press guaranteed by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and violates his right to exercise his work as a civilian journalist which is a violation of international legal norms, the union said in a statement signed by its secretary general Nikati Sailan. He added that the claims of the judiciary under the militia, claiming the rule of Yemen since two years ago, is illegal, not subject to the standards of justice, lacks credibility and claims the status of the court.
