Malaysian defense minister Hishammuddin bin Hussein Aun and and Makkah-based Muslim World League Secretary General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Isa, who is also supervisor general of the Intellectual War Center, an affiliate of the defense ministry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held here today a joint press conference to highlight the joint Saudi-Malaysian announcement to establish an international peace center in Malaysia to be named "King Salman Center for International Peace", in collaboration between Intellectual War Center, the Security and Defense Center, affiliate of the ministry of defense of Malaysia, Malaysian Islamic Teachings university and the Muslim World League, who have agreed on a 90-day period to launch the facility. The two senior officials confirmed that the Kingdom and Malaysia have agreed to be partners of launching the center soon, and they share identical viewpoints on the vision, message, values and objectives of the center. The Makkah-based MWL was assigned to author and enrich the intellectual and research path of the center, and provide it with religious scholars to serve as yet another asset to be added to the military expertise in its intellectual and survey aspects. They asserted that the center would be specialized on laying the foundations of peace, tolerance values, consolidate the concepts of moderation, enhance the positive profile of Islam, defuse the shameful accusations launched every time and then against the religion, confront the ideologies of terrorism and extremism and spread its message abroad targeting the wise minds of the whole world. Detailed information will be published later when the center is on the launch, the told reporters. The Malaysian media have shown great interest in the new intellectual peace organization, illustrating it as part of the two countries' rapprochement dimensions, noting that Malaysia is always the home of moderation and tolerance and forms an important option for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as its approach matches with the Kingdom's endeavors for enforcing the moderate approach and balanced positions of the country.
