The Secretary General of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Water Award, who is the supervisor of Prince Sultan Institute for Environment, Water and Desert Research at King Saud University, Dr. Abdulmalik bin Abdulrahman Al Al-Sheikh, has invited the world's leading water scientists to nominate for the award in its five branches at its eighth session before the end of December 2017, via the website (www.psipw.org). Dr. Abdulmalik said in a press statement today that Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Water Award has so far received 45 applications from 24 countries representing North and South Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa following the success achieved in its previous sessions over 14 years. He said that the award honors the winners morally at a special international ceremony similar to the ceremony held at the seventh session at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, noting that the winners will be honored with a sum estimated at SR 1 million for the winner of the Innovation Award, and SR 500,000 for each winner of the four specialized awards covering surface and groundwater, alternative water resources and management and protection of water resources.
