Hrithik Roshan, who got applauded for portraying Rohan Bhatnagar in 'Kaabil,' feels that the movie has left special discovery for him and it is- "Differently abled is not just a polite phrase it is actually the truth."
When asked on the same, realising the actor told media here, "What has stayed with me post 'Kaabil' is a very special discovery. Those whom we think are disabled are actually our equals and sometimes more. Their abilities are different. A blind person can't see but his other senses can be sharper than us. Differently abled is not just a polite phrase it is actually the truth. They don't need our sympathy, they need inclusion and sensitivity."
The ' Mohenjo Daro' star also shared how playing a character like this made him realize that there was something special in it.
He added, "Sometimes the characters that you play assume a life of their realizing this with Rohan Bhatnagar. Practically every day I get something new coming my way due to this character. I realise that there was something special there. I was particularly touched when someone whose name is Rohan Bhatnagar wrote a very sweet and sensitive letter about how post the release of Kaabil people are reacting to him differently."
The 43-year-old-actor feels that his portrayal of Rohan Bhatnagar seems to have a lasting effect on the audiences.
"The character seems to be finding a lot of love. Even though it's in the pure commercial space but there is bit of a point about those who are differently abled."
While speaking about movies that has stayed with him, Hrithik named ' Taare Zameen Par' to be the one.
"Taare Zameen par. Won't talk about my films but in current history of films this was one film that has just stayed with me," he said
On this note, Karan Johar could not stop raving about Hrithik's performance and tweeted, "As a filmmaker, it's exhilarating to watch an actor deliver his best. Hrithik is a powerhouse of talent and is exemplary in Kaabil."
The flick had a good run at the Box Office, grossing over Rs. 147 crores worldwide.
