The Kingdom always calls for dialogue and peaceful coexistence amongst countries. It is a sincere call from the land of the Two Holy Mosques for global peace, security, mutual understanding and cooperation. When the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received the Indonesian President and prominent Muslim personalities and leading figures from other religions in the country, he renewed his call for peaceful coexistence amongst different peoples and religions. He underscored the importance of communication and dialogue between the followers of various religions and cultures to enhance the principles of tolerance. He said that religions seek to protect human rights and ensure wellbeing and happiness, and stressed the importance of fighting extremism in all religions. The King affirmed that Saudi Arabia adopts the concept of dialogue amongst the followers of various religions and cultures. The Kingdom has also contributed to establishing the interreligious dialogue center in Vienna. The royal call comes from a sincere sense of responsibility, not only towards Muslims, but also towards peoples of the world. It advocates peaceful coexistence amongst the various religions, cultures and beliefs in a world suffering from violence and extremism. Fighting perpetrators of violence has become the predominant mission of many countries, diverting much of their resources to this cause rather than to development, thus affecting their growth. Saudi Arabia has long realized this fact, which is one of the main reasons why it initiated the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Dialogue Amongst Followers of Religions and Cultures in Vienna. The Center aims at strengthening the principle of dialogue as the way to build relations between the various religions and cultures. Dialogue shows the way.
