Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamed Najib Abdul Razak has said that the close cooperation between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia in the fight against terrorism is based on a strong belief in the tolerant, moderate and peaceful nature of true Islam. Commenting on the visit of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to Malaysia, Abdul Razak said the visit would strengthen the fraternal relationship between the two countries, based on mutual trust and respect. Abdul Razak said in remarks quoted by the Malaysian News Agency Saturday that the relationship "is an example for the Islamic world and other countries in the world." He added, "We are proud that Saudi Arabia and Malaysia have cooperated in maintaining the well-being of the Islamic nation and providing strong leadership to it." Abdul Razak said that Kuala Lumpur was honored on King Salman choosing Malaysia for his first visit to an Islamic country in the region, as well to Southeast Asia, since ascending the throne.
