Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz met the newly-appointed United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the Yamamah Palace in Riyadh today. The King congratulated Guterres on his new role and wished him good luck. For his part, the secretary general expressed his happiness on visiting the Kingdom and his meeting with the King. The King and his guest reviewed the UN efforts and its mission to achieve international peace and security. The reception was attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, and other officials, besides Jeffrey Feltman, Under Secretary General for Political Affairs. The UN was expected to hold discussions with Saudi officials here later today.
