Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez' loan move to Las Palmas was Spain's biggest deadline-day deal on Tuesday. The former Real Madrid striker was greeted by around 9,000 supporters at the Estadio Gran Canaria in an early-evening presentation. He told fans: "I don't consider myself a Galatico, I am just like any other player. "The team has been playing well and we are very close to the European places. "We have to keep looking upwards [in the table] and see if we can get there." On the subject of strong interest from other sides including Middlesbrough who reached an agreement with PSG last week, he added: "I always wanted to come here." The player will wear the number 10 shirt for the club who boosted their chances of making a European place this season with a 3-1 win over Valenica on Monday. Las Palmas president, Miguel Ramirez, hinted at the player having taken a pay cut to join the club when he said: "He comes to us losing a lot of money, but he has preferred to have things this way so he can play for us." Elsewhere it was a quiet deadline day in Spain. Real Madrid allowed midfielder Lucas Silva to join Cruzeiro on loan until 2018. And Barcelona agreed to sign 18-year-old Uruguayan centre-back Santiago Bueno. The under-20 international is seen as the new Diego Godin in his homeland where he has already debuted for Penarol. His agent Pablo Boselli told Uruguayan radio Sport 890: "The negotiation is closed. All the documents have been signed, so there are just a few minor details to sort out." Bueno is currently with the Uruguayan U20 team in the South American championships in Ecuador but will go to Barcelona to sign as soon as the tournament ends. Meanwhile, former Real Madrid youngster Jose Rodriguez joined Spanish first division side Malaga on loan until the end of the season from Mainz. The 22-year-old midfielder played four games for Madrid under Jose Mourinho and made his Champions League debut for him against Ajax before joining Galatasaray in 2015. Elsewhere, Sevilla completed the signing of Walter Montoya from Rosario Central. The 23-year-old is likely to stay with his Argentine club for the rest of the season. Valencia gained an experienced campaigner and lost a young talent on deadline day. Manchester City signed their 15-year-old forward Nabil Touaizi. Valencia will receive around 300,000 euros (323,820 dollars) in compensation and the fee will rise to 2 million euros if the young striker makes the first team at the Etihad. But the club signed 31-year-old Fabian Orellana on loan with a compulsory purchase for 2 million euros at the end of the season. The Chilean winger had fallen out with Celta Vigo manager Eduardo Berizzo and had no future at the club. Down at the bottom of the Spanish first division Osasuna signed Italian international goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu from PSG. The 30-year-old moved from Sevilla where he was on loan but not getting first-team minutes. Similarly, Alberto Bueno left Granada where he was on loan from Porto, and joined fellow relegation strugglers Leganes until the end of the season. They also took Nabil El Zhar on a free from Las Palmas. Fellow strugglers Sporting Gijon took Monaco left-back Elderson on loan to aid their fight against relegation.
