Former Brazil national team striker Alexandre Pato has joined Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian, local media reported Tuesday. The deal, which sees Pato move from Spanish La Liga club Villarreal, is worth 18 million euros (19.2 million dollars), Chinese news agency Xinhua reported. Pato, who has played 28 times for Brazil's national team and scored 10 times, confirmed the move by posting a photo on Twitter alongside Tianjin Quanjian coach Fabio Cannavaro. The 27-year-old signed on with Tianjin Quanjian on Monday after completing a medical in Rome, where the squad is currently taking part in pre-season training. "I'm very happy to be a part of this new family at Tianjin Quanjian," Pato said in the post. Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel, who joined the Chinese club from Zenit Saint-Petersburg early in January, was among the first to offer his congratulations. "Welcome to #TianjinQuanjian amigo," Witsel said, in a tweet showing the two players posing for the camera.
